Self-tanner is a magical product that can quickly give you a top tan. For this to happen, however, it is necessary to prepare the skin in the best possible way, not forgetting some steps.

If you have the light skin and you struggle to tan but you would still like to show off a color that differs at least a little from that of a ghost, know that the options to darken a few tones without necessarily being exposed to the sun exist. Excluding sunlamps, because they are not really healthy for the skin, how about using self tanner?

This product is perhaps not appreciated as much as it should be, especially because it is believed to be difficult to spread and with a high risk of stains, especially tending to orange. However, applying it with due care, it can turn out to be one real resource and the ideal solution to your beauty drama.

If you are still skeptical, let’s get to know him better.

Self-tanner is a product whose main ingredient and the DHA, one sugar that once in contact with skin proteins, it reacts by stimulating the onset of darker substances. These are what give the tanned effect to the skin, which is affected by the phenomenon of coloring only superficially.

The self-tanner, in fact, does not stimulate the production of melanin as the sun’s rays do, but it simply gives a fake tan and, for this reason, super safe, both on the face and on the body.

Another important clarification to make: this product does not preserve in any way from sunburn or even more serious damage caused from UVA and UVB rays, so if after using it you plan to go out in the sun, always apply a sunscreen.

If we’ve convinced you, here are the things to do before applying the self-tanner, which you just can’t forget to get a wow effect.

Exfoliate the skin

It is because the self-tanner, once absorbed, is homogeneous and gives a natural color fundamental that before application the skin is absolutely free of residues, dead cells and impurities, which could undermine the final result.

For this, the first step to take is to make one scrub to the part of the body on which you intend to intervene. This step should be done regularly, regardless of the use of self-tanner, because one skin free from impurities always results brighter and keeps you healthy.

How you do

Blend the kiwis, then put them in a bowl with the coarse salt, olive oil and lemon juice. Stir until you get a homogeneous mixture, then apply it to the dry skin of the legs, arms and any other area that you intend to treat later with the self-tanner.

As you lay it out, make circular movements e massagers for a few minutes. Rinse with warm water.

Shaved

Always to make the skin as smooth as possible, and therefore allow the self-tanner to appear more evenly, completely depilate it.

The method you choose does not matter, as long as the skin is not irritated at the end. If you opt for the waxing, so, do it a few days before to apply the self-tanner.

The option faster and safe is the use of blade, but also in this case be careful not to cause small cuts or irritation.

Dry the skin well

Before proceeding with the application of the product that will give you the complexion so dreamed of, wash the skin thoroughly with non-aggressive products. At the end of this operation, be sure to dry it to perfectionand, dabbing it gently with a soft towel.

Any in fact, drops of water or wet areas could cause the self-tanner to slip off and thus generate a mottled, decidedly horror surface.

Moisturizes the skin

The last step before moving on to self-tanner is that ofhydration. A dry skin, indeed, makes the product much more difficult to spread and can determine a conclusive optical result that is not at the top. Then spread a moisturizer on the affected part of the body, wait for it to dry and proceed with step two.

Choose the right self tanner

At this point, you are ready to start the treatment but before you do it check that you have purchased the right product.

Self-tanners, indeed, they are not all the same. The key thing to check is the concentration of DHA here I’m. The lighter your skin, the less there should be, to avoid the dreaded carrot orange effect.

If your complexion is rather pale choose a self-tanner that has a maximum of 3%, if instead your skin is in the intermediate range you can start from 5% and go up, taking into account that more DHA means darker tan.
